Peter Strasser is a full professor in the Chemical Engineering Division of the Department of Chemistry at the Technical University of Berlin. His research interests focus on Materials and Catalysis for electrochemical (energy) technologies. Prior to his appointment, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Houston, and prior to that he served as Senior Member of staff at Symyx Technologies, Inc., working on combinatorial and high throughput discovery of new catalysts for syn-gas technologies and hydrogen fuel cells.
In 1999, Peter Strasser obtained his doctoral degree in Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry from the Fritz-Haber-Institute of the Max-Planck-Society, Berlin, under the direction of the 2007 Chemistry Noble Laureate, Professor Gerhard Ertl. He studied chemistry at Stanford University, the University of Tuebingen, Germany, and the University of Pisa, Italy, and received his diploma degree (MS) in chemistry in 1995.
